Our client based in Biggleswade is currently recruiting for a Graduate / Junior CAD Design Draughtsperson to join their growing engineering and manufacturing team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate, HNC/HND student, or junior CAD technician looking to build a long-term career within a well-established manufacturing business.
Working within a modern manufacturing and office facility, you will support the design team by producing general arrangement and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. This role offers full training, mentoring and hands-on exposure to fabrication and production processes, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical and design engineering skills.
Main Responsibilities:
• Producing general arrangement drawings for clients
• Creating manufacturing drawings for factory production
• Using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 2D and 3D design work
• Interpreting architectural drawings and site surveys
• Supporting the wider design and engineering team
• Assisting with manufacturing and fabrication projects
• Working to project deadlines and production schedules
• Maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Contributing towards continuous improvement within the department
Skills & Experience:
• Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD software
• Experience or knowledge of SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD beneficial
• Understanding of engineering materials and manufacturing processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical and architectural drawings
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Positive and proactive attitude
• Excellent attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and develop within an engineering environment
