Production Planner
£35,000 plus benefits
Are you an experienced Production Planner looking to join a successful manufacturing business where your organisational skills and attention to detail will make a real difference? Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in ensuring production schedules run efficiently by coordinating production orders, managing material availability and supporting multiple departments to keep operations moving. Main responsibilities for the Production Planner:
- Convert planned orders into production orders ready for kitting.
- Check for material shortages when converting production orders and liaise with Purchasing to resolve any issues.
- Maintain accurate shortage records and update tracking spreadsheets.
- Enter and maintain site commitment dates.
- Review pick lists and investigate items not picked.
- Resolve stock discrepancies, BOM and part number issues.
- Amend production order component lists where required.
- Liaise with Stores and internal teams to ensure materials are available for production.
- Monitor and manage production shortage reports.
- Respond to production-related enquiries.
- Support Customer Service with order and production queries.
- Assist with stock takes.
- Investigate and resolve production order variances.
- Support material transactions and inventory accuracy.
Skills/experience for the Production Planner:
- Previous experience in a Production Planner or Manufacturing Planner position.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using MRP systems – SAP experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Able to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
- Proactive and able to work using your own initiative.
- A team player who is equally comfortable working independently.
Working hours for the Production Planner:
- Competitive salary (dependent on experience).
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Monday to Thursday with an early finish every Friday.

We are looking for a Compounding Operator to join a busy compounding team based in Cambridgeshire.
The work is hands on and physical. You will handle plastic pipes of various sizes, operate equipment, maintain good housekeeping standards, and ensure material is supplied to the compounding process safely and efficiently.
Main Responsibilities
· Move plastic pipes and scrap material from the scrap yard to the compounding department using a forklift.
· Organise and maintain the scrap yard in a safe and orderly condition.
· Feed plastic pipes into a small shredder manually.
· Cut plastic pipes using a band saw.
· Cut coils and pipe lengths using a chainsaw.
· Use a log lifter to feed large material into the main shredder.
· Keep the work area clean and control swarf and debris generated during the process.
· Follow all safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
· Support the compounding team in meeting production and recycling targets.
Skills and Experience:
· Valid forklift truck licence.
· Good awareness of health and safety.
· Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a small team.
· Comfortable carrying out physical work in a manufacturing environment.
Salary and Working Hours
£13.50 per hour
Monday to Friday
06:30 until 14:30

Main responsibilities of a forklift driver
- Wrapping pallets
- Loading and unloading using the counterbalance forklift truck

- Taking products from and delivering raw materials to production lines
- General housekeeping duties
Skills and experience
A valid counterbalance forklift truck licence, refreshed independently within the last three years, is essential to be considered for this role.
